Use "check" or "tick" consistently

How could the content be improved?

Throughout the lesson, we sometimes refer to checking a box and sometimes to ticking a box. We should be consistent in using one or the other. In this context, check is used more in American English and tick is used more in British English. As our style guide recommends British conventions, the suggestion would be to use tick.
