How to perform some action in response to an asset check result

I have an asset check, and I want to perform some action in response to the result of that check.

I can achieve this in dagster through the use of a sensor.

Is there not more of an "out of the box" approach to this that combines freshness checks and the asset decorator automation_condition argument?
