My idea pretty simple, we plan N-waves on refactoring, at first wave:

1. we just remove all legacy and unused code.
2. Fix all linter problems and migrate to TS. We can use Any type and @ts-ignore for some edge cases at this stage.

By my opinion that can significantly reduce potential bugs and speed-up development process in long term.
