Installer consumes all available RAM and is killed by the system (Fedora 41, 46GB RAM)

Describe the bug
When running the installer, my entire system becomes unresponsive for about a minute before the installer process is killed by the OS. The system log reports that the process was terminated due to excessive memory usage (almost all 46 GB of RAM consumed). This makes the system hang for a while before recovering after the process is killed.

To Reproduce

1. Run the installer as instructed in the README.
2. Observe system behavior as installation progresses.
3. System becomes unresponsive, then installer process is killed by the OS.

Expected behavior
Installer should not consume excessive memory and should complete successfully.
