Validation failed: Model can't be blank (ActiveRecord::RecordInvalid)

Any ideas on where how to start debugging this? Feel like my example is super simple. Can't seem to track where this validation is coming from. Just pulled 1.0.1 as well.

i figured out. needed to rebuild the db as rails was confused about something.
