What does the kCoolixSwing mean?

What is the swing in Coolix protocol?
I know Swing_v - is vertical swing.
swing_h - horizontal swing.
and what is just swing? Maybe just off swing or control swing_v?

Looking through the code, it seems that protocol has a general swing on/off, and the swingv etc message moves where that range of vertical swing's highest point is.
