i have installed the audiobookshelf helper script with no issues starts fine but when i try to add library it doesn't see my books and will not let me upload i get access denied i have a audiobooks directory setup on a zfs pool and i have it shared with ABS this seems like a owner ship issue but i am new to Linux and proxmox so i am not sure how to fix this thanks for any help

Can you access the storage / books directory from the LXC?

Did you reboot the LXC after changing the config?

Also I'm not sure on the sub-vol, my guess is it's caused by you declaring the volume size of 1TB so it's probably creating a partition on the disk.

@oOStroudyOo I did reboot the LXC and what I posted above is what shows. And actually, after reboot ABS no longer plays audiobooks, it just errors. So now I'm thinking it no longer has access to the media that lives in here:

My understanding is that the root disk is where the LXC/VM is "installed" and the mount point is where the LXC/VM accesses my storage (tank). Like, in Windows I had audiobookshelf installed on my C: drive (windows ssd) and on my D: drive I had all the audiobook media, so within the ABS UI I could just tell it to go to D:/ABS/Audiobooks and it can access everything.

With my limited knowledge, I'm somehow trying to get my audiobookshelf LXC to have access to my media. I want that media to be on my mirrored 8TB drives called tank and I want to install my VMs and LXCs on my SSD called flash. My final SSD only has proxmox on it because I read that nothing else should be there because if it fails you lose all of your VM/LXC. Hopefully that makes sense.

I don't really know what to suggest unfortunately.
I only follow 2 steps:

• Mount the storage in the LXC config
• Reboot the LXC

So, there had to be some issue within my permissions for flash and tank. I tried over and over to chmod and chown, to change the user and group ID, etc. Finally, I destroyed both storage pools and started fresh, renaming them Apps and Storage (stolen from you, I liked that much better). I installed docker and loaded ABS into docker and once I mounted the storage and changed permissions, including adding this to /etc/pve/lxc/100.conf (docker) it finally worked.

My next step is to figure out docker-compose or Portainer because just seeing the docker container in Proxmox is strange and I'm not sure how I would know whats running in it unless I check via docker ps Thanks a lot for the assistance and helping me learn.

ok thanks i am unsure but i have cockpit installed so i can see them on my network but for some reason i can add a author to /tank/Audiobooks/Books /Craig Johnson. but while in the console of ABS when i look i don't see the C J so i am a little lost on some things thanks
