Is it possible to modify the Frontend/litegraph.js in the public version of ComfyUI?

From what I've gathered this is only possible in the Comfy-Org version which isn't public. Is there a process to gain access as an individual just looking to make a custom frontend for myself?

Ideally I'd like to use the --dev commands to use the local frontend instead of modifying the site package files.

You can specify local frontend path via --front-end-root
For example)

--front-end-root /mnt/teratera/git/ComfyUI_frontend/dist
