Pages index page performance issues #933

Expected behavior
When there are a lot of pages the index page takes a long time to load
Actual behavior
It is taking over 15 seconds for the entire page to load
Steps to reproduce
Things that help:
I believe the issue could be fairly easily resolve if we add in some form of pagination to the index page and perhaps allow viewing children of a parent page by clicking on the parent so when a parent is expanded I don't have to wait another 20 seconds for it to load the children in.
System configuration

CMS version: 2.0
