Allow <input> elements to work and be saved in readOnly mode

I'm trying to use editor.js to create simple survey forms that can be viewed in readOnly mode but still allow the viewer to enter details and toggle checkboxes, etc.

I also want to then save the changed data either as a complete data set (save) or with the form data only (saveForm).

I've looked at using survey.js however it is overkill for my purposes and I like the editor.js clean interface.

Is that functionality possible?
