Storage Paths :: How are you doing this?

My question is about storage paths. I want to use a default storage path for all docs. My NGX install mounts an SMB share, and I want processed docs to be in a 'human readable' structure.

I have tried:

1. Using the NGX UI, adding {{ created_year }}/{{ correspondent }}/{{ title }} into Storage Paths. But as I add docs, I have to manually change the Storage Path variable per document. The matching algo's don't seem to particularly help here either?
2. using the PAPERLESS_FILENAME_FORMAT in the config file. But because I'm using paperless-ai to generate many tags for me ... {correspondent} for example. All my docs end up in a [year] / [none] folder location.

@clusterzx sorry to direct this to you. But have you any thoughts on path handling when paperless-ai is creating tags needed for that document storage path?

Just closing this out. Problem solved.

1. Create a Storage path in the UI (or the config file), using the folder structure you want.
2. Create a workflow in NGX, triggered on document submission. The action is to assign the default storage path.

Then, ingest documents! The hook takes priority, with I think OCR finding the correspondent and adding that tag. paperless-ai can then come in afterwards adding more tags. I need to test what happens if it disagrees with the correspondent tag.
