Description
Let me preface this by saying that I know that this mod is meant for ioQuake3 and ports based on it. The problem is that when I launch vanilla Quake III with this mod installed, instead of it just ignoring the file, it crashes the game. The main use case for having it ignore the file without crashing is that when hosting a dedicated or listen server with the flexible HUD installed, it will attempt to download the mod to clients, and if that client isn't ioQuake3 based, it will crash.
At first I thought there wasn't anything that could be done about this, but cMod for Star Trek Elite Force has a very similar HUD solution, while also remaining compatible with the vanilla client. With that said, do you think anything could be done about this?
