Node colour and shape limitations

AMR-TV has a maximum of 6 different node shapes and 12 different node colours. This limits visualization for some cases, so it might be worth looking into whether this can be improved.

Otherwise, limitation warnings should be included in the input box title (currently they are only displayed under the respective "help" modal).

Currently, the modal allows input of a variable with more than the maximum number of categories supported, but the model will fail to generate. Should a checking function be implemented beforehand to prevent this?

I don't think you can really have much more than 12 easily distinguishable colours (e.g., it gets hard if you have for example multiple shades of blue). I used the popular tool Colorbrewer to pick a colour scheme. One think you could do is assign two colours to each node (e.g., red/blue split down the middle). This would provide a lot more colourways. But I'm not sure if these get difficult to parse as well? Also how well would it translate into the zoomed out view with small nodes?

May be worth investigating any discussions/paper in the data visualization field that tackle the limitation of colours/shapes for nodes in a network, or just colours/shape in visualizations in general
