@atelierulthatsfunny Feature to get language code in the output of the filename has been mentioned before here #601 I see this as a future improvement we will get at some point. |

Hey Chidi,
Hope you're having an awesome week!
First off, I just have to gush a little – I absolutely LOVE your tool! Seriously, it's been a total game-changer for me. That folder watching feature? Pure magic! I'm so incredibly grateful for it.
Now, I have a tiny "but" – more like a little thought bubble – that could take your already amazing tool to a whole new level of perfection (if that's even possible!). I've been wrestling with a bit of a manual headache, and I think a super simple change could make a world of difference.
Here's the deal: I'm currently working with a single dubbed video that needs transcribing in about 30 different languages. The folder watching is fantastic, but after I get the transcript, I'm stuck manually jumping to Google to detect the language, then going back and renaming each file. Multiply that by 30 languages, and it's turning into a real time-sink! 😩
My first thought: What if, when the watch folder automation exports the file, it could somehow include the detected language (like a language code or name) right in the output file name? That would be an absolute lifesaver and save me so much time and effort.
And this got me thinking even further...
You know how awesome it would be if we could also batch burn those captions directly onto the videos? Imagine setting up a predefined location and having the tool automatically handle the burning, using a simple JSON structure to define the caption style – kind of like how some tools (like NCA Toolkit's free offering) let you specify things like
line_color
,font_size
,position
, and evenstyle
(classic, karaoke, etc.).Something along these lines:
This would be absolutely HUGE for workflows involving multiple language versions, especially for folks using tools like n8n or Make to automate their processes. It would turn a multi-step manual chore into a seamless, automated dream!
Is either of these ideas something you might be able to implement or consider for future updates? Even a small mention of the language in the file name would be incredibly helpful, and the bulk burning feature would be a true game-changer.
Thanks so much for considering it! You've truly built an awesome tool, and I'm genuinely excited to see what's next.
Best,
DAVID @chidiwilliams
