Saving message is not synced to other device that has auto deletion (and thus already deleted the old message)

I have two devices, one has full history, the other has auto deletion.

Now I search for and save an older message. my expectation as a user would be that I can also see it in saved messages on the device with auto deletion. - because saved messages is otherwise excluded from auto deletion.

But the actual result is that I can not see the saved message on the device that has auto deletion enabled.

yip, this is a known flaw already mentioned in the original pr at #5606

is see that it can happen, but it seems to be a minor in real-usage and needs to be weighten against disadvantages (implementation effort, maintainance, probably lots of additional traffic)

maybe the behavior is not even expected, see comment at #5606, though i would not argue for that

anyway, unless there is a simple approach overseen so far, considering our resources, i'd close as "not planned"

In DC Desktop it's not a big problem -- the user can forward a message to Saved Messages. But on Android i didn't get how to work around this.

anyway, unless there is a simple approach overseen so far

for me an error message in it's place telling me that "the message does not exist on this device, please use the forwarding feature instead and for the future consider changing your.auto deletion setting" would already have helped greatly.

my personal feelings as a user: The current behaviour was so unclear what happened at first, that I lost a bit of confidence in the stability/reliability of delta chat for a moment. An error may be annoying in theory, but in practice I like to know what's going on and to know how I can fix such issues.

yip, that is a doable workaround for desktop, and indeed, as we have dedicated "save" buttons everywhere now, we can consider that for android/ios as well (there, we did not had dedicated "save" first, desktop came later and skipped that phase :)

Maybe it should be renamed then. "Save" indeed sounds like saving a message on all devices. I'd prefer to know in advance what will happen. Maybe "Bookmark" or even smth more obscure would be better. DC Android actually has an unnamed "bookmark" icon.
