Horizontal bar: show tooltip on mouse over for entire tick

I guess semantics is important here, tick, swimlane, bar area, etc:

I have a horizontal bar that is near zero, and I have to take my mouse to the near zero position to have the tooltip display.

What i want is to display the tooltip in the whole tick, swimlane, bar area, because to put the mouse at near zero is difficult and time consuming.

After many SO searches I tried the following with no success:

plugins: {
    tooltip: {
      intersect : false,
      mode: 'index',

Sseems like mode index is bugged in a horizontal bar.

You can use mode 'y' instead then it will work with intersect false
