Bonding of particles

Have anybody looked into adding bonding of particles (other than the general cohesive forces).

What I'm looking for is a way to build up "pearls on a string" to simulate something like flexible hairs.

Very sorry for the late feedback. Thus far this has never been tested or tried, but it would be doable with some programming efforts :)!
