Ability of running offline if git is already cloned

As Chalet cache git in chalet_external folder it would be great to be able to use it offline,
maybe passing a specific parameter.

I'm not sure what you mean...

You can always clone a repo separately somewhere and use "kind": "local" isntead of "kind": "git"

Now trying to explain better :
I was working on some Chalet projects and lost internet connection (rural area here, no 4G etc)
so I was wondering if I could keep working using already cloned git in chalet_external folder
like some parameter to use the already cloned cache without erroring and quit when there are no internet connection.

I'll test changing the configuration to local so I can use like this if this happens again

Got it. Yeah, I would just clone it separately and use "kind": "local". Then you can do what you want with the git path. Right now, "kind": "git" clones the repo and remove the .git folder to save space. I don't really want to change that behavior, because I wanted to take it a step further and fetch the source zip in some cases (if using github, maybe gitlab) to make the act of fetching a git dependency faster. The zip won't have a .git folder in that case.
