I would like to see if I am a snob too, but I only listen to music in the form of mp3-files. Do you think you could allow entering top artists & songs manually?

Spotify has search APIs, and since they aren't tied to a user, in theory you could build a tool to do this. I don't see me doing any more with the API though.
