Combo-box Input text get clear on edit

Combo-box : After selecting item from dropdown if user want to edit input text selected item first clear then new text
shown in input field and user search only the new text .

What did you expect to happen? What happened instead? What would you like to see changed?

Expectation : After selecting item from dropdown if user want to edit input field the last item which was selected should not be deleted instead user can search with last selected item also
