Virtual Shifting with Zwift Click working in QZ but No Resistance Change

Hi @cagnulein,
I'm currently running this setup:

• QZ on iPhone (v2.19.2)
• Wahoo KICKR Core as the smart trainer
• Zwift Click for virtual shifting
• Zwift Cog (installed)
• myWhoosh on MacBook Pro

Here's what I'm seeing:

1. I start by connecting QZ on my iPhone to the KICKR Core — works fine.
2. Then I connect Zwift Click to QZ for virtual shifting — I see gear changes in the QZ UI.
3. However, changing gears does not change resistance on the KICKR Core.

Any ideas why resistance isn’t changing with virtual shifts via QZ, even though gear changes appear correctly?

I've identified the issue — my Garmin Forerunner 570 watch was also connected to the trainer and was controlling the resistance.

What would be the correct setup if I want to follow a structured workout from my watch, but still use virtual shifting via QZ?

On android qz can communicate to the garmin directly via ant and also receives the request from the garmin and applies virtual gearing and send to zwift.

But in ios this is not possible due to the fact that ios doesn't support ant+

Do you have an android device, even an old one?

Have no android device, only macbook and iphone.. and an old windows pc.

What if my trainer is connected to both QZ and my Garmin watch, but QZ and the watch aren’t connected to each other?
Would it still be possible for QZ to control the resistance (for virtual shifting), while my Garmin just tracks the data without interfering?

Is there anything I might be missing in the setup?

Ant + bike must be disabled there

Qz sends as a power sensor (it's the only sensor garmin can read). In the power sensor there are power and cadence. Setting the wheel diameter you can have also speed and distance. This is how I'm setting up my Fenix 8. It could be a limitation of the firmware of your forerunner. Garmin is usual to do this on some watch models

Is there another way to configure the wheel size?
