I know mine is having this "issue" for a long time too...

It looks like an extra step related to a token is required now to not get this "warning" message:

Thank you for checking it out and the kind words!

I totally forgot about the "trusted publisher" problem since I accepted it once and it does not come back again.

Sadly, I believe the problem is that it requires to validate a domain name https://code.visualstudio.com/api/working-with-extensions/publishing-extension#verify-a-publisher. At the moment I do not own a domain and for now not planning on acquiring one.

As a side note on the Open VSX https://open-vsx.org/extension/caenrigen/jupytext-sync I am a verified developer since their process was more simple.

Also since there is some discussion regarding a potential "jupytext org" that could own this repository, I will delay with taking any actions on this.
