New version notification

For now, distribution appears to be outside of what I consider normal channels. For example, I can't install using apt, which means there isn't an easy way to see if there is a new version. I'd love to see an option to get the version and notify me if there is an update. And on a related, note, is there a publicly available change log?

1. Just filed Start shipping to non-npm package managers #8 for non-JS channels!
2. At minimum we'll use GitHub and NPM version tagging for a changelog (I'll bump this thread once we cut 1.1 as an example), but it might be worth expanding buttondown.com/changelog to have tags so folks can e.g. subscribe to just CLI updates.

I spend my day at a command prompt, even in Windows, so I am very intrigued by this tool and want to keep on top of what's new.
