Multi-page .pdf figures in HTML don't default to page 1 as the

Compare figure 2 in https://arxiv.org/html/2509.14185v1 vs https://arxiv.org/pdf/2509.14185

This differs from because figure had multiple pages. The PDF rendering defaults to page 1, but the HTML rendering defaults to a different page (the last one?) instead.

Thank you for this report @samblackwell, it is indeed a latexml limitation.

This overlaps with #2508 about the page= option of \includegraphics, but it should be easier to fix, since it's only about changing the default behaviour rather than adding support for a new argument.
