Migration of PanelApp Australia to new URL

Hi Seqr Team,

The current integration with PanelApp utilises the PanelApp Australia instance at https://panelapp.agha.umccr.org/. However, this instance will soon be migrated to a new URL, after which the old URL will stop being updated and then subsequently decommissioned. Initially, there will be no code or account changes, so this will manifest purely as needing to use a new URL. To manage this change, the URL for PanelApp Australia will need to be updated in the Broad Seqr instance, as well as any other instances that are utilising that integration.

The new PanelApp instance will be hosted at https://panelapp-aus.org and will be managed by the Bioinformatics Methods team at MCRI.

Although there is not a precise date set, we expect this change to occur in the next few weeks, with a period of 2 weeks where we pause updates to PanelApp to allow teams to adjust applications and integrations. We expect that the only change needed from a technical perspective is to update the URLs used in any applications, scripts and configuration files. We will likely implement a database migration that adjusts the URL in our own Seqr instance, and this could be upstreamed if that is helpful for others to migrate their own instances.

I'm raising this here for awareness and so that we can discuss any support that would be needed to help ensure a smooth transition for the Broad Seqr instance as well as any others. We will also post updates here when dates for the switchover become firm.

Thank you for the heads up! Currently the main seqr instance does not have the panelapp URLs anywhere in public source control, so I think just notifying us of the new URLs once they are live would be sufficient for our group to update our own instance to use them. Will the API itself be changing, or just the URL?
