Modify layout

Hi! And thank you for your little module!
Quick question - Where do I modify the code so that I for example can put a
somewhere or rearrange the "fields".
Is there an easy answer to this? =)

Thank you for asking this question.

The lay-out files are in the directory /modules/mod_simple_ical_block/tmpl
default.php contains the default lay-out.
rest-client-timezone.php is a place holder lay-out to use rest/ajax that also uses default.php later in the process to compose the lay-out.

I would not recommend tio change these files directly, because the changes will be overwritten by the next update of the module.
Better is to use the standard Joomla overrides as described in https://docs.joomla.org/J4.x:Template_Overrides

With this method (and your template is Cassiopeia) you create copies of the lay-out files in
/templates/cassiopeia/html/mod_simple_ical_block
The files from this directory now are used instead of the files in /modules/mod_simple_ical_block/tmpl
You could change the new default.php to make your adjustments, but I would suggest first to rename them
(with the button rename when you open the file in the template customizer) for example:
default.php => aia-layout.php
rest-client-timezone.php => rest-aia-layout.php

Further I would recommend to change:
simple-ical-widget 270
to
simple-ical-widget aia270

on line 114 in aia-layout.php and line 41 in rest-aia-layout.php
to make it easier to verify in the source of the website, and or in inspector that you use the new lay out.

If you have done that you should have the following options in the layout filed advanced settings of the module:
---From Module--
Default
Use client timezone with Rest
---From cassiopeia template--
aia-layout
rest-aia-layout

Choose aia-layout when you are satisfied to use the system timezone in the output, or rest-aia-layout whe you prefer to use the timezone of the client browser.

In both case when you find aia270 in the source of the output,
and/or in the inspector output you are sure to use your own layout.
Now in both cases you can make your changes of the lay-out in:
/templates/cassiopeia/html/mod_simple_ical_block/aia-layout.php

Of course when you use an other template substitute cassiopeia with the name of your template and you can use an other name for your lay-out override then substitue aia-layout with this name. (the name of the layout may not contan an underscore (_)).
