From new frameworks we want you to know about to improvements to goose we want you to experience, let’s take a walk down (the kinda sweaty) memory lane for July 2025.

Project Spotlight: Trailblaze

AI-driven mobile testing just got a blazing new upgrade! Trailblaze is Block’s LLM-powered mobile testing framework that lets you author and execute tests using natural language. Just tell Trailblaze what you want to test, and it handles the rest. Watch the Droidcon talk where Sam Edwards (Android & Kotlin GDE at Square) and Brian Gardner (Android at CashApp) dive into the project in detail.

Apply to the Goose Grant Program

[We’ve created a grant program](https://block.github.io/goose/grants/) to accelerate goose in the open source community. If you believe in a future where agentic AI is open and accessible to all, we invite you to help us shape that future. We’re so grateful to have received over 80 applications since its launch last week, and would love to [see your submission](https://block.github.io/goose/grants/).

What’s Loose with Goose

Before we get into the awesome new developments with goose, if you want to closely follow where its development is headed, follow this updated goose roadmap! Get a sneak peek at unreleased features (like dynamic model selection) and more. Now, let’s get into the newest features you need to know about.

• New UI for Goose Desktop - July brought a complete redesign of the Goose desktop UI! You can click to view past sessions, see at-a-glance usage stats, and more.
• Lead/Worker Models - Pair a planning model with a fast execution model to get depth you need, speed when it counts, and lower costs overall. The community has been pairing this feature to save tokens, bonus is it pairs well with open source models!
• Goose Goes Mobile (on Android) - It feels like just yesterday that goose finally released on Windows and Linux. Today, goose mobile is live on Android! This experimental release brings goose as an open agent on your phone: automating multistep tasks, responding to notifications, and even replacing your home screen for maximum efficiency. You can learn more from the goose mobile docs.
• Subagents - An experimental feature that allows you to have tasks completed in separate session windows so you can preserve context and continue chatting with goose in your main window.
• Goose + CLI Providers - If you’ve found yourself wanting to use your existing subscription to Claude Code or Gemini CLI with goose, we heard you loud and clear! You can now use goose with CLI providers and manage sessions or integrate workflows with your existing provider subscriptions.

WeAreDevs 2025 Recap

We went and came back from Berlin more energized than ever after WeAreDevelopers World Congress 2025! Thank you to the thousands of engineers who stopped by the Block booth to explore goose, our open source AI agent, firsthand. Watching live vibe coding was a reminder of how much creativity rests in the hands of the developer community.
