Release 0.28.1?

Hello,
Would it possible to release a new version? As the current changes fix also the CVE-2025-22869 security vulnerability.
And, is it possible that the community can trigger a release in some way? Based on the Contributing documentation, there should be a release every month, but I can understand why this sometimes doesn't make sense. So could there be an improvement in this area in any way?
