Request for Adding China-Compatible Map Services (e.g., AMap)

First of all, I want to thank you for creating and maintaining this fantastic GPS tracking tool! I’ve been using it for months, and it has made tracking my routes incredibly intuitive and enjoyable. The open-source nature of this project is truly inspiring, and I appreciate all the effort you’ve put into it.
However, I encountered an issue while using the software in China. Both OpenLayer and Google Maps fail to load properly due to network restrictions in the region. This makes it challenging for users like me to fully utilize the map visualization features.
I was wondering if you could consider integrating China-compatible map services such as AMap (高德地图) or other locally supported mapping APIs. This would greatly enhance the usability of the tool for users in China while preserving its excellent functionality for users worldwide.
If there’s any way I can assist with testing or providing additional context about the integration process, please let me know—I’d be happy to contribute!

Oh, I didn't know OpenLayers layers are not accessible in China.
I understand you mean that OpenStreetMap, OpenCycleMap etc do not load.
I think the easiest solution in this case would be to add AMap or Baidu tiles as OpenLayers layer.
I made a try and added the tiles in settings. I added http://webrd0{1-4}.is.autonavi.com/appmaptile?lang=zh_cn&size=1&scale=1&style=8&x={x}&y={y}&z={z}
You can see it on demo (you have to choose Gaode layer from layers menu).

Does it work for you?

For me the map renders correctly but there is a small problem, as the Chinese maps use different projection. I think the points on the map are shifted. There is currently no way of setting projection in settings, so maybe I could apply proper transformation automatically based on url? I will see how it could be solved.

Thank you so much for your quick response and for adding the AMap tiles! I'm thrilled to see the map loading successfully now. I really appreciate your effort in making this adjustment.
You're absolutely right about the coordinate shift issue. I noticed that the points aren't aligning perfectly with the map. I understand this must be a complex problem to solve, especially with the current settings.
I'm still learning about software development and was truly sorry previously unaware that I could add new map layers myself. As a cycling enthusiast, I've been using your software primarily for my bike rides, and it has been incredibly helpful.
