Although not maintained/updated for years, the project still works well.

Pull the HBase Docker image

docker pull harisekhon/hbase
docker run --name hbase -d \^J -p 8080:8080 \^J -p 2181:2181 \^J harisekhon/hbase

Install starbase

pip install starbase

Use it (tested on Python 3.12)

from starbase import Connection

c = Connection(host='127.0.0.1', port=8080)

c.tables()
# []

t = c.table('table3')
t.create('column1', 'column2', 'column3')
# 201

c.tables()
# ['table3']
