Vexilar Sounder integration

What would it take to integrate a SonarPhone unit ( https://store.vexilar.com/sonarphone-w-hs-transducer-phone-not-included.html ) into the BBN ecosystem?? Would this be getting the company to open up the software to porting onto Linux or ??? I don't see many solutions for a full on sounder, outside of just reading depth from an NMEA string. Is this worthwhile or am I dreaming here?
