What problem are you trying to solve?

It takes long time for some EC2 instances to shut down (~5m for g4dn.xlarge). We would like to benefit from a recently released EC2 feature that allows skipping the operating system shutdown when terminating instances and shut down machines as quickly as possible.

Use case description: we run a lot of short-lived batch jobs and some of our EC2 instances only live for a few minutes. There is no reason for us to wait while EC2 is gracefully shutting down after our Pods are gone and we want to kill the nodes asap.
