"Avo::BaseResource does not have a valid model assigned."

In one of the apps I'm using Avo in, I get this banner:

It appears as soon as I add a avo/base_resource.rb class:

class Avo::BaseResource < Avo::Resources::Base
end

If I remove this file, the banner disappears.
In another app where I have this file as well, and some methods in it that are shared by all resources, I don't get this banner.
No idea what I'm doing wrong here... 🤷‍♂️
