Initialising pre-commit environment for `isort` fails

Hi,

I have generated the template for publications, and in doing so the pre-commit config includes isort. When trying to commit, I get the following error while initialising the environment for isort. It seems to be linked to the issue here. Upgrading the isort version from 5.10.1 to 5.12.0 fixed this error for me.
