Inconsistent readings between USRC 12kg roaster and Artisan #1929

Differences in probes explain this. Thermal reactivity, thickness, placement and depth of insertion, amount of build up on the existing probes vs the new ones, etc, all has a significant impact. This doesn't need "troubleshooting". There is no "problem" to uncover. Just a new set of (correct) data points. What your task is, is to understand how to correlate the new measurements to your old references so that you can continue to roast on the profiles you've established. https://artisan-roasterscope.blogspot.com/2017/12/roasting-with-phidgets.html is not a bad read for a bit of background, and idle noise is also of interest https://artisan-roasterscope.blogspot.com/2019/03/on-idle-noise.html. |

Hello!
I recently was able to connect Artisan to my USRC 12kg roaster with a Phidgets 1048 device. I am getting vastly different readings going to my roaster screen vs artisan. I have checked that the right type of thermocouple is selected and I have tried adjusting offsets.
I am able to get the BT to read pretty much the same as the roaster when it is idling around the charge temp, but when the BT is low (right before the turning point for example) It may vary by 20-30 degrees. My ET is a lot more variable and moves around a lot more extremely compared to what the roaster is displaying.
Any troubleshooting advice to try? All help is greatly appreciated!!
