as of the lates update, Santoker X3 should be compatible with Artisan, I have tries a few times to roast, but often i loose control of roaster mid roast, either auto drops or it just crashes behind the sceen. Anyone have success in using Artisan with santoker x3?

Autodrop is probably noisy, poor resolution signals. Share a roast profile that captured this, and your settings. Also, its probably worth thinking about turning autodrop off in such a case.

"crashed" is a pretty unclear description. For it to be actionable, you'd need to supply a lot more information.

May I know what version is this, I had downloaded v3.2.0 Mac version and I did not see the options

It's not in the RELEASE version, which is what you downloaded. It's in the CONTINUOUS build. https://github.com/artisan-roaster-scope/artisan/releases/tag/continuous

on the continuous release version 3.2.1 it appears to be preconfigured for my Santoker x3, am I still supposed to go into configure-machine-santoker-Q+X and configure?

this is just maintaining your settings, no different to any other version upgrade. If you're not configured for the correct roaster, reconfigure. If you need to reset everything and start over, then do that too. We don't know your settings nor intricacies of machines you have

Your continuous builds have imporved the performance of Artisan on the Santoker x3, with less frequent "drop" issues. One thing i realized in looking at the proprietary go roaster software is that there is a control toggle to "turn off burner after batch" There is no equivalent setting in Artisan. If you could add such a feature it could tell the roaster not to turn off after a "drop" and it would make recovery of any connection issue much easier to deal with by just hitting "drop" again and continue on with roast.

Baudrate? How are you connecting to your roaster? I thought via Bluetooth!?

On serial connections the correct baud rate has to be set. I am not aware of much (if any) software which can auto detect the baudrate of a serial connection before connecting.

yes, blutooth. Sounds like i dont need to pay attention to the port configuration page for modbus?

No. Bluetooth and MODBUS are two completely separate means (and layers) of communication.

I have been roasting with the Santoker X3 using your continuous, for a couple of weeks, and although the modification of the device network configuration to remove "drop" communications from the machine stops the marking of spontanious "drops" it doesn't stop the machine from turing off the burner necessitating restarting of the software mid roast. we were exploring reasons why and thought it was related to some blue tooth interferience, but I have attached a test profile where I recorded to instances where I turned off the bluetooth on my laptop for 30 seconds, and then turned it on again, and the softward resumed recording and the roaster continued to burn and no "drop" was recorded. Then at minute 6:23 the spontaneous drop occurred again and the burner was shut down. Is it possible to have an on/off button for the burner decoupled from charge and drop?

yes, I have ran test roasts with the drop disabled. Artisan will not mark the event, but nevertheless the roast will end as the burner is shut down, and will only be turned back on by resetting and hitting charge again, loosing all roast data. Steve S.

I added configurations under Config >> Devices, Network tab to disable the synchronization of Artisan with those event messages per event.
