Should gui elements refresh their contents automatically when variables inside formatted strings change?

Is this intended, or a bug?

    x = 42
    
    gui_section(style="area:0,0,100,100;")
    text = gui_text("x={x}")
    
    task_schedule(my_task_label)
    
    await gui()

===== my_task_label =====
    await delay_app(1)
    
    x += 1
    gui_represent(text) # no change; "42" is always displayed
    
    jump my_task_label

I though it might display 43, 44, etc. based
on an example in #336 (comment) where doug's response was "I believe the gui example is correct"

To be clear, I think the current behavior is fine, and is maybe even slightly preferred.
