Z2T on Athom ZG01 ?

Hello

I just purchased an Athom ZG01 Zigbee Gateway with the intention to use it in Z2T just like my Eachen gateway
The device comes configured for ZHA but this is not what I want.

I flashed the same firmware that I'm using with my Eachen which is compiled with:

After replacing TCP Tx/Rx by Zigbee Tx/Rx, it doesn't work

For now I have not tried to change the CC firmware

Is there any chance I could get this device in Z2T ?

As the ZG01 is based on CC2652, it should be used as ZNP instead of EZSP, hence you made a build not compatible with the Zigbee chip.

Assuming that you got the device already set up with Tasmota (with a template for TCP mode for ZHA/Z2M), you should've been able to reconfigure for Z2T simply by using a suitable template like this one which works for me:

Instead of relying on the Tasmota build flashed by Athom, I've followed the suggestion on https://zigbee.blakadder.com/Athom_ZG01.html of using the same precompiled tasmota32-zbbrdgpro firmware as for the Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Pro (which is also CC2652-based), but I'd expect the Tasmota firmware flashed by Athom to be equivalent.

And I do assume that Athom already flashed the CC2652 with "Tasmota-compatible" firmware, but you can also find some versions here:

Switching to USE_ZIGBEE_ZNP (instead of USE_ZIGBEE_EZSP) did the trick

I now wonder if I should also upgrade the ZNP firmware
The device came with an old 12.x Tasmota release so I believe the ZNP one is old too
I see on Koenkk's repo that the latest is dated from last summer
Assuming it's a CC2652P2, looking at the table, athugh the Athom is not listed, I feel I should use coordinator/Z-Stack_3.x.0/bin/CC1352P2_CC2652P_other_coordinator_20240710.zip

Just that the fromt page tells:

Zigbee: ZNP v2.7.1.20220219

So probbaly better to upgrade to a V3 version

I'd be careful about upgrading to versions outside of what's known to be supported by Tasmota - unless you are in the mood for a bit of experimentation.

this is in the repo that is pointed by Tasmota Zibee doc:
... more recent like Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Pro (CC2652P) can be flashed directly from Tasmota. Z2T supports ZNP version 2.6 (Z-Stack 1.3) and version 2.7 (Z-Stack 3.x).

So from what I read, the 2.7 I have is already based on ZStack 3.0X but 20220219
The latest is 20240710

Well, with "version 2.7 (Z-Stack 3.x)" it would indeed already be a "V3 version", hence I was wondering if you were looking for something later than ZNP 2.7.x ...

I've not bothered upgrading past Zigbee: ZNP v2.7.1.20220219
