it is possible to get parent info in additionTypeDefs?

I don't think it is possible due to how GraphQL works. Field resolvers are only aware of the object that field belongs to.

In which part of the code does this happen? I'd like to take a look to better understand the flow. Could we pass the parent when resolving a type?
