Describe your question in detail.
Hey folks,
I've been running some TPS benchmarks comparing Diem and Aptos on the same hardware setup, and I'm seeing a pretty big gap in performance.
With Diem, I'm getting around 120K TPS, but with Aptos, it's only hitting around 45K TPS on the exact same setup:
CPU: AMD EPYC 7B13 (32 cores / 64 threads)
RAM: 128 GB
OS: Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS (Kernel 5.4.0-1125-gcp)
CPU Speed: 2.45 GHz
I'm trying to understand whether this kind of performance difference is expected. Is there something fundamentally different in how Aptos handles execution that explains this?
