This never got out of alpha, was archived over a decade ago, is compiled with Java 1.4, and seems unlikely to keep working in the future, if it even works now. Figure out how to replace this.

Could find an alternative implementation or maybe inline the few classes we need.

Some of this code simply cannot work any more. In particular plexus-mail-sender-simple is based on unauthenticated SMTP connections used to play tricks in the 1990s. In 2024 that's no longer possible on the open Internet. maybe in some internal networks?
