I would even add Simone Weil's saying: “To clarify thought, to discredit the intrinsically meaningless words, and to define the use of others by precise analysis - to do this, strange though it may appear, might be a way of saving human lives.” Very interesting post. |

Many sources define quantum mechanics as the physics of the very small. But this is wrong. Quantum mechanics directly applies to macroscopic systems including superconductors and superfluids. The boundary between classical and quantum behavior is not scale but external coupling. I propose a new definition that better captures the essence of the classical-quantum boundary.
