IE 11 and JAWS

In IE 11 all of the items in the drop down are being read out loud by screen reader.
For example if I have 3 items in my drop down Test 1, Test 2 and Test 3 JAWS version 17 will read test 1, test 2, test 3 and then the item selected in this case test 1 again.
