Could you please explain what the idea behind Owned and Personal company ? I'm a bit confused ...

Like what's the use case for companies.personal_company = 0 ?

The personal company is the first company you create upon registration.

Ok, but I cannot find an use case for companies.user_id=N and companies.personal_company=0

Where exactly are you seeing companies.user_id=N? companies.personal_company=0 means that it isn't anyone's personal company...
