default_battery_low_threshold by generic type or chemistry

My AA/AAA batteries still work down to below 30% (so far) but my CRxxx batteries need changing at 50% (to be safe as they drop off fast after a point).

It would be great to set the alarm for AA/AAA type batteries to be different to CR type batteries.

I'm not sure how many technology/chemistry types there are:

• lithium (cr2032 etc)
• Zinc-carbon (AA/AA etc)
• ...

I know I can do it individually and I appreciate this may be a rabbit hole, but it's a thought/discussion!

A rabbit hole indeed and one I've thought about a lot with no definitive thoughts yet.
You have to also factor in the brand of battery and how nice the device is. I have Hue dimmer's with Energiser CR batteries that have been sitting at 2% for months now, but some Tuya plant sensors drop off quickly.

A recommended percentage against each device in the library may be the way to go but that could be subjective and I don't know how many people would submit a value accurately.

It is an interesting problem though!

Totally get it.

One of my Hue motion sensors is at 30% and working perfectly with standard AAAs. I'm waiting for it to drop off (or at least become unreliable) and will apply that level +5% to all my other Hue motion sensors. ...and perhaps that's the way to go.
