Correct url for media

Hello,
I try to connect the media-player. I am struggling with the correct URL. Now I set it to 192.168.x.x.:8123.
I tried to add /media-browser.
I still can't select an artist. Your help is welcome!

@albamatti Tell me more about what you mean? Describe it in more detail. I tested this widget only with a smart column and did not put many functions. Perhaps you mean using services such as "media_player.select_source" and others? If so, I will prepare a more extended version for the release.

Thanks for your reply. I assumed the top banner in the media field (it shows the title and artist) could be used for browsing throught the media-library. I saw that it shows the current song playing.
So, this is how you build it and it seems to work.

Hmm, I think I'm starting to understand what you're talking about, if not, correct me. You want to select the input source for a media player like:

source_list:
- HDMI 1
- HDMI 2
- Netflix
- YouTube

for audio only, right?
If so, send me a screenshot of your HA media player instance with all the attributes and I'll see what I can do.
P.S. In any case, there will be a more functional version on release.

Hi, that was exactly what I meant although I doubt if it is possible to select the audio-files after the source-selection. It would be nice to get it running like how Music-Assistant ([https://github.com/music-assistant]) works, otherwise a source-selection won't give any advantages compared with the current information (e.g. what is playing at the moment (attribute: media_title).

As far as I can see only Apple-TV supports [source-list:] source_list: Netflix, New Faith Network, , NLZIET, NOS, NPO Start, Pathé Thuis, Plex, Podcasts, Prime Video, Spotify, Viaplay, Videoland, YouTube

I need to see how it works, I haven't used it. So I can't say for sure. You CANNOT set entities dynamically in ESPHome (software limitation at the moment). That is, you can't just go and change the media_player entity and its attributes in the screen menu (widget), but once again, you need to fully understand what is required and how it works.
