Cannot add WordPress sites to fresh install of Panopticon

The Virtual Server hosting my Panopticon instance crashed, and it wound up being faster to build a new one than to try and restore and fix the old one. I got Panopticon installed using v1.3.1 without issue, and added all my Joomla sites without issue.

When I try to add my two WordPress sites, I get an error (listed below). One is hosted on SiteGround, the other hosted on the same server as Panopticon. Both were in my previous instance without an issue, so they should be able to connect. Both have Admin Tools installed.

Uh oh. Something is totally broken here…

Normally we can detect the nature of the connection error and provide some useful troubleshooting information here, or at least point you to some kind of useful, third party troubleshooting resource. When this is not the case, we can at least print out an error message which will help us help you troubleshoot it.

Instead, we got an error which we should be able to provide troubleshooting information for (Akeeba\Panopticon\Exception\SiteConnection\APIApplicationIsBlocked), but we don't have the code for it. This should have not happened.

Please delete all files and folders inside the tmp folder of Akeeba Panopticon. This addresses the problem of this page's cached copy being severely out of date. If this doesn't help, please let us know.

Both sites were running plugin 1.0.1, and I've upgraded to 1.0.2, but still cannot add them. Clearing the TMP folder did not change the results.

It just occurred to me that WordPress 6.8 came out the same day my virtual server crashed, so this may be related to WordPress 6.8, and not the new server.

Thank you for this - got one of the sites working. The first one had a custom rule in .htaccess that rewriting the JSON page, once I removed that it began working. The second one is being cantankerous with me and has a different issue - I'll follow the same troubleshooting steps on the second site when I have the chance to do so.

Try disabling some plugins. I've found that more often than not, a third party plugin is doing something it should not be doing. Unfortunately, the majority of extension developers seem to be unaware of how Joomla works beyond Joomla! 1.5, and some of them even beyond 1.0…

This one is WP, all of my Joomla ones are working smoothly. I did the basics first (disabling the plugins), but this error is different from the other one - just bad timing that multiple issues all came up on the same day that WP 6.8 came out AND my Host OS updated, killing my web server in the process.

The guide has all the right information, I just need end users to stop lighting fires long enough for me to troubleshoot the issue.... (The WP site itself is up and running, so this is not a priority compared to other issues I need to deal with).
