How do I add a new page - say thank you page?

I am trying to add a new page to my papermod based site. I created a content/thankyou.md but it does not link to /thankyou/. I cannot find a thankyou folder in the generated site as well. How do I add this page to my site? Thanks!

i guess you want the page to appear in the Top-Menu? For this you have to add in the config.yml:

menu:
  main:
    - identifier: thankyou
      name: Thank you #this is the text wich is displayed in the menu
      url: /thankyou/
      weight: 10 # with this number you indicate on wich position the menu entry appears

No. The page doesn't get generated at all. There should be a thankyou/index.html someplace (or a thankyou.html) right? That's where I got stuck. I was forced to move away to a different theme that worked. Unfortunate. I really liked this theme.

hm than I dont know what the Problem is; If you can share your code I could maybe find it...

Yeah, I kinda moved everything to a different theme (which has a different structure :-( )! Let me try to set up something again and share the code. maybe I just missed a step somewhere. Am quite new to Hugo too..
