Streaks

Hi,

Having streaks might be a good way to encourage consistency. possibly sensors (per chore) for highest streak and current streak. I know that my wee boy would probably be competitive enough to try and break his highest streak. Might also be an idea for to have highest streak held for duration but thats maybe overkill.

Anyway, I've set this up now and its excellent so well done.

HI,

So you mean, to have a counter that defines the number of days in a row, for example, that a specific chore has been done, or in total?

I am now implementing some more sensors:

• Badges Sensor
• Total Points obtained per day, week and month
• A maximum Points obtained sensor (a net from chore points, manual points, penalties and rewards) as an all-time high

I am also refactoring some bits of code to enhance somethings that I did not do on the initial release.

I hope I can get this out today.

Hi,

Yes in a row, so for instance current streak would show that kid has made their bed 3 days in a row and record streak would show that at some point in the past they managed to make their bed 17 days in a row. I feel this could encourage consistency.

That seems an awesome idea. Let me try to figure out a way to get that included and how it can be managed! 👍

Edit. The badge for breaking the record could be an idea, but would mess a bit with the existing badges. Maybe a new type of badge and it could work fine, but then this would have to be global. If we add an additional layer of entities to each chore, this may end up as being the integration with more sensors in HA history 😆

I have been thinking about this and I believe I will make it and get your idea.

Right now I am planning into adding a new Achievements step in configuration, where each user may define the achievement they consider... either by individual chores or global chores (example, 20 days doing any chore). I may also add sensors to each of those achievements, I need to have a better look into it.

I am also thinking of having a field to reward extra points for achieve said reward, for example!

Yeah looks great mate thanks. I just need to convince my kids to do more than one day in a row lol.

I don't think the new notification option is working though, I set it as my phone and kids claimed something earlier but don't recall getting a notification on my phone. I'll get back to you though as its possible i cleared it by accident.

I'm loving this btw, great work.

For the notifications I had something wrong on version 0.1.5 (testing environment seemed to work, but not really). Update to version 0.1.6 and it shall be working then.
