Unable to set background picture.

When setting the background picture by editing the BgSource in theme.conf it doesn't load my wallpaper. I used the absolute path to the wallpaper. sddm just displays a blank pure white background. Do I really need to place the wallpaper in /corners/backgrounds/ ?

By absolute path do you mean e.g. /absolute/path/to/pic.png? According to this Stack Overflow comment by default paths are relative. Can you try prepending file:// to your absolute path?

Yes by absolute path I mean /absolute/path/to/pic.png. If I understand correctly the entry for BgSource should be (with quotes) "file:/absolute/path/to/pic.png"?

I read on Stack Overflow that it should be "file:///path/to/my/pic.png" but that didn't work for me even sourcing it directly in Main.qml didn't work. I think I am misunderstanding the syntax.
